Officially Saying Goodbye

3:20 PM

A chapter in my life has come to an end. I consider it as a milestone, a sad phase, when one of good thing in me comes to an end.

NO...  I'm not yet leaving the society of single hood. hehehe!

uuhhmmm... me talking about my last movie date with the-boy-who-lived, HARRY POTTER!

It all started in 2001, on his 11th birthday, young Harry Potter discovers the life he never knew he had, the life of a wizard. In his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he meets his two best friends Ron Weasley, an expert at Wizard Chess, and Hermione Granger, a girl with non-magic parents. Harry learns the game of Quiditch and Wizard Chess on his way to facing a Dark Arts teacher who is bent on destroying him.

In 2002, me with my college friends spent four hours in the movie house to watch Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets. For this one, Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts School of Wizardry for his second year. After a confrontation with a house elf named Dobby, Harry escapes to the Weasley house with Ron Weasley in a flying car. They are then late for the train and have to ride it to school. When they get there, strange happenings invade the school. "Mudbloods" (people of Muggle families) are "petrified" by an evil monster lurking in the grounds. When every one suspects that it is him, the trio then set out to find the culprit and find out more than they bargained for: the diary of Tom Riddle, why Hagrid was expelled and what the Chamber of Secrets is and why is it so feared in Hogwarts.

After two years, 2004, Approaching his third year at Hogwarts, Harry Potter has had enough of his muggle relatives. He runs away from them (finally) and enters his third term facing trouble from more than one side: for using magic outside the school and from the news that a notorious criminal, serial killer Sirius Black, has escaped the wizard's prison at Azkaban and apparently is headed for Harry. The school calls in supernatural help against Black in the form of Dementors, but unusual things continue to put Harry in peril. He is thrown into a confusing panoply of shifting alliegences and shifting shapes where nobody is who or what they seem.

In 2005, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire takes us deeper into the characters' minds and the darkness of the Wizarding World. At the Quidditch World Cup, Voldemort's followers gather and wreak havoc. Then, at Hogwarts, a legendary event takes place. The Triwizard Tournament! The Goblet of Fire judges who gets in and who doesn't. On the fateful night, three champions are selected. But then the Goblet spits out one other. Harry's. These two major events point to the return of Lord Voldemort. Dumbledore and the other teachers sense it, but it is inevitable. And Harry is no longer safe at Hogwarts. This fourth installment is the most dramatic, and also the scariest. Let me just say that all does not necessarily end well...

2007, It's another year at Hogwarts for Harry Potter and his friends. The previous year, he witnessed not just the death of Cedric Diggory, but also the return of the Dark Lord, Voldemort. The ministry of magic doesn't believe everything Harry says and will do anything to keep everyone calm. Hogwarts begin changing, especially when Dolores Umbridge arrives to take over the school. Now, with Voldemort's army getting closer, Harry and his friends must teach themselves and form an army to take on the upcoming threat.

They released in 2009 HP6, In Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft, Harry finds a book marked mysteriously, "This book is the property of the Half Blood Prince," which helps him excel at Potions class and teaches him a few dark and dangerous ones along the way. Meanwhile, Harry is taking private lessons with Dumbledore in order to find out about Voldemort's past so they can find out what might his only weakness

2010, for the last book they had 2 installment for it, HP 7.1 Voldemort's power is growing stronger. He now has control over the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to finish Dumbledore's work and find the rest of the Horcruxes to defeat the Dark Lord. But little hope remains for the Trio, and the rest of the Wizarding World, so everything they do must go as planned.

I know this is not sooo me, going gaga for movies, since i'm not a movie-house-person but this is the only movie that I watch in the movie house aside from JL Cruz movies (CHOSS!). For the reason I don't know i really felt sad when I saw HP7.2, this sounds maybe melodramatic to you. But I know somehow you feel the same way too, some heads maybe are now nodding, others maybe guilty at the way the scarred boy wizard tangled his exciting life to us for a number of years.

I was in college when the sorcerer's stone came out, after watching this film, I read each of the books and then waiting in anticipation for the next one. And wait how Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint justify the story in the movie.

So with the last Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows II, I invited a long lost friend to watch this 10 years in the movie-making. Before heading to the cinema , we decided to grab a bite first. We did a lot of catching up and after finishing our food, it's time for HP 7.2!

The final chapter begins as Harry, Ron, and Hermione continue their quest of finding and destroying the Dark Lord's three remaining Horcruxes, the magical items responsible for his immortality. But as the mystical Deathly Hallows are uncovered, and Voldemort finds out about their mission, the biggest battle begins and life as they know it will never be the same again.

Entering the movie house, I'm all giddy and excited to start it but halfway through the movie, I already feel like I'm gonna be at a lost and beyond sad not expecting another Harry Potter movie. So I was all teary eyed up until to the ending especially when snape died and when Harry uses the pensive to view Snape's memories. Harry learns that Snape has been on the good side ever since Voldemort decided to kill Lily Potter. Snape loved Lily almost his entire life, and promised to do anything for Dumbledore as long as he protected her. Then, when she was murdered, Snape promised to protect Harry in her place.

I had high expectations of HP 7.2, but it was even better! Although it's sad that the journey has come to an end. How I wish Albus Severus Potter will have a potter series as well

So obviously, I enjoyed the movie. And I'm glad to have known Harry Potter and his magical world.

Goodbye Harry Potter!!
