Unleashed the Boy in Me

11:24 AM

Growing up, I watched sports with my family, my dad and brother are my big influences with sports. My dad plays basketball with his workmates before, my kuya does soccer during highschool, ate got into track and field while I joined the swimming team. But basketball is our number one sport in the house, we don't play together but we watch it till we get grumpy when our team looses.

All right so i'm in the era of Michael Jordan, I super love Chicago Bulls then, with his back-up Pippen and Rodman who wouldn't love them, action, drama, passion and your favorite sport packed into one! Although i got so hooked with this one NBA superstar, not with his team but with HIM, nyahahaa!

Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway
meet my lovey penny, hehehe! He's four-time All-Star never won a championship, but did help the USA take home the Gold Medal at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Penny Hardaway's career was plagued by injuries, that reduced the overall productivity of his 10-year NBA career and caused him to be traded quite a few times. He playe for Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, and New York Knicks.

uhhmmm, soo much for reminiscing....

It was a busy third or fourth weekend of July?! well aside from a movie date with Harry Potter to open up the mall that Saturday I have three ball games to attend and all day and night to adore those sports superstars.

I was suppose to stay in MNL at my unit to watch the second ball game of my weekend, since it will be aired at studio 23. Unfortunately because of the mountains and high fruit bearing trees studio 23 it's pixelated and rainy at parental house, what i'm trying to say is we don't have studio 23 in Laguna. However all plans change after this...

 yup! Ch2!

so after ending the Harry Potter chapter in my life with my good friend cams on a gloomy Saturday, i hurriedly went home, in my parentals so I can watch the Azkals game around midnight (that is 2hours drive, haaiizzsst). Unfortunately I have to sacrifice the Ultimate All-Star Weekend with the PBA Selection.

July 23-24 marked a historic event for the Philippines, especially with PHL sports. Hunk, and charming Kobe Bryant led eight other NBA stars to the Araneta Coliseum which is now change to SMART Araneta Coliseum against some of the top players of the Philippine Basketball Association and the Philippine national team Smart Gilas Pilipinas for 2 days worth of exhibition games.

We got Chris Paul, arguably the best point guard in the planet, the youngest NBA MVP, Derrick Rose. Oklahoma City Thunder and fastest rising NBA Superstar, Kevin Durant with teammate James “Fear the Beard” Harden and 5-Time NBA Champion and future NBA Hall of famer, Kobe Bryant will play alongside, 3rd Year NBA veteran JaVale McGee of the Washington Wizards, 2nd Year NBA Veteran Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings, NBA rookie from the University of Arizona Wildcats Derrick Willams of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and senior veteran from the LA Lakers Derek Fisher, appeared like curtain call.

I'm waiting for your tweets then, aaahh inggit ako! Ala na nga sa araneta, ala pang tv! Hehehe! Thanks!

That night PHL dominated twitter world as well four out of ten was due to Smart Ultimate All-Star Weekend, Arwind Santos, NBA-PBA, Smart Araneta Coliseum and IBC, it shows how big is the Filipino twitter community huh?! These people are the best of the best is seeing them here in our land is such a great honour! Our PBA selection didn't beat them, maybe forever will not, they wont called the NBA superstars if the PBA will do! Get the point?!

Next Ball Game... My new Addiction... FOOTBALL
As you know, i'm not really a football fan, i even don't know how to play the sport and i'm authistic with the game rules. Until this half-breed cuties telling the whole nation and nearby countries, that they are Filipinos and fighting for our flag through FOOTBALL. Until i learned to love the game.

After an earth shattering win from 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier Round 1 vs Sri Lanka, here comes a big opponent when it comes to football, 2014 FIFA World Cup Round 2 First Leg vs Kuwait. After a tremendous defense in the first half, unfortunately the took the game with 3 goals and none for us.

Kuwait has been in ASIAN cup finals nine times, beat Saudi Arabia, Iraq and other poweful football country. They have been at this much longer than us, for that I can say we did well. But after the game I can't help but to rant on my twitter account, hehehe! I know this one is a bit childish but I just can't help it! hehehe!

Now we go back to basketball again, with the SMART Gilas or Philippine National Basketball Team vs the NBA all star. With this experience, it's the best time to expose themselves against the best players of planet EarthThey also got the chance to asses the status of their team right now, on how far they've been since the Smart Gilas program started 3 years ago. Most importantly, this game also gave Gilas the opportunity to show to their critics that they are for real and that they can compete against foreign players.

Filipino pride can't just be let down, while on the fourth quarter of the game, Manny Pacquiao came, that led Kobe Bryant to come over and gave him a friendly punch. Afterwards Pacman go to all star bench to say hi and hello to our visitors. After the game all NBA stars run after Pacman's autograph and picture, sweet ayt?!

This busy weekend, sports weekend came to an end, NBA fans wished it didn't. Even i thought of that while gazing like a kid at the TV screen, but of course I know that's not possible. hehehe!

Basketball and Football my two diversions nowadays! hehehe! apir!
