The Lazy Burger

11:51 PM

I'm a bit under the weather for the past few days, uhmm maybe the stress of work or just because of this yearly flu vaccine shot given to employees. Don't get me wrong, I don't have bad blood with syringe (which most people do, matapang ako!), but the vaccine... oh yes I do. For two straight years the flu vaccine just don't do any good for me, and every year I don't learn my lesson well. Five days after the shot, here comes the unwelcome visitors, sore throat, runny nose, flu, and cough.  And guess what it's just mid of the week, how on earth will I rest my body in peace(if its only Wednesday)?!

Since my weakling body called for it, I filed for a vacation leave and took a day off. However I realized that, VL is sayang, if I'll just stay in bed and sleep. My mind has its feet of its own. A complete itinerary, food and massage packed in one long night, processed automatically in my mind. Luckily, my partners in crime filed their leave as well and got approved. Yaaayyy! Let the fun begins!

For our first stop... The Burger Project

How did I know bout it?! Uhhhmm it's pretty popular, especially their store in Quezon City and Taft. Though I didn't care back then, since I'm not your patty princess. I eat it but I do not crave for it and besides those area are pretty far from my place. Urrgghhh, traffic, lrt sardines, naaahh! One time while watching the boob tube, Kris Reality TV featured it. And it somehow caught my interest, especially when I learned that there's a new burger project near my hub.

The concept of The Burger Project is to create your own burger with it's step by step checklist and you'll have the privilege to name it. Starting with the patties, bun, cheese, basic toppings up to premium toppings, feeling a true blood foodies, your choice!

Actually the place is easy to be spotted but since we are a bit below average in terms of direction, nothing new, ooh yeah we lost our way. That would be another story. Moving on, we entered a the store and the graffiti designs on the wall, makes the place lively and cool. Different seat tyle, couch, high chairs and tables, but you know very well that I so love the couch. So we chose the high chairs, (chosss!), the couch of course near the counter.

As soon as we entered and made ourselves comfy, a staff handed us the checklist. Double patties (angus beef), bun, lots of lettuce, tomato, aayiieeehh then my mouth starts to water. However I thought that since I'm really not into burgers maybe may combinations will fail. So I played it safely, Hello Designer burgers!

Designer Burgers are pre designed by the store chef or owner and previous foodies. The Brgr of the Month then was "Bandido" which is 100% beef , potato bun, with bacon and egg, mozarella, tomatoes and lettuce and truffle aioloi. It was created by Rico Blanco himself. Coolio ayt?!

However having this pesto in a burger excites me, so I lured myself to Itallian Stallion which I renamed as The Lazy Burger. My Lazy burger consist of angus beef, mozarella, pepperoni, sun dried tomatoes, lettuce and pesto. I indulge myself as well to their biggie cut french fries and to their blueberry milkshake.

My lazy burger 235
Fries 75
Blueberry Milkshake 150

The milk shake was definitely the best, two thumbs up, if only I can make it three. It's that good! An unusual fries for me with big cut, though maybe, I'm just too used with Mickey D's yummy fries and that I can't trade for any other fries. My Lazy burger is a flop, I would like to pay more for Big Brothers Burger. Most probably because I'm more of a grilled person.

I dunno if because its almost closing time but staff are kinda cranky and unwelcoming. Good thing their milk shake tasted heavenly, that me and friends wanted to rename the store.... The Milkshake Project! Uhhhmm coming back?! yes, but not at The Burger Project, we are eyeing Pino Restaurant and Bar, which is beside their store. Anyhow spending sometime with friends, a handful of laugh and unlimited chikka covered my not so tasty lazy burger. Still fun anyway. Time to head to some pampering. Check out my next post. Soonish! Ciao! :)
