First working day of the year! Just in time to experience the very famous beef stew along Ayala Ave. A very well lighted place, cozy ambiance and a direct view of the busy city of Makati. Along with my office mates, right after our shift ended we headed to the place to be with our bosses.

The very famous beef stew is actually a beef brisket simmered in low heat with star anise, ginger and spring onions, soy sauce and sugar for 3 hours, with just enough water to cover the meats and to concentrate the flavorful broth. This dish is popularly known as... PARES!

The place is actually at the center island of Ayala Avenue, it's like a food cart that serves food in the street.  Indeed we have a direct view of the city. Although not as comfortable place to eat, pares is nonetheless a yummy treat for only 40php (if I remember it correctly). Our dinner wouldn't have that fun without my crazy dinner mates that night! Pares is a must try for those who who doesn't have choosy stomach and intestine. Hehehe! Thumbs up for me!
