Liceo Night
2:25 PMGossip, rumors, "love", lies, drama, heartbreak, laughter, craziness, good times, best friends... high school."We're the sons of our great alma mater, Liceo forever for the Lord. We will spread the faith. Forever loyal we will be. We will defend her in our hearts without fear"
I sang that everyday back in high school, every flag ceremony. Most of the time half-hearted but on our graduation rites, emotions were poured in. Liceo de San Pablo was an exclusive school for the boys until they celebrated their 20th foundation anniversary. That was school year 1998-1999, the school welcomed 132 female students (100 in first year and 32 in second year). Oooohhh yyeeesss I'm one of the pioneer female of Liceo de San Pablo... ONE CRAZY PIONEER GRADUATE!
Lucky school, they've got 31 more pioneers, equally insane, graduates! I believe it's quite contagious, that's why we ended up all happy and emotional when we need to bid goodbye to our alma mater.
My Liceo days won't be complete without the choki-choki craze, kwek-kwek, the uber famous mami, Lala chocolate and a lot more. I've eventually learned to powder my nose before recess, lunch, and end of class, as you know I never been the vain type. My best friend Melrose baptize my eyebrows. I felt tortured and all teary eyed , all that she said... "Tiis ganda , neng!"
Boys never fails to leave the class trending topic each day. That includes boy bands (Backstreet Boys, A1, Hanson etc.), celebrity (Devon Sawa, Patrick Garcia, Carlo Aquino, OLSEN RACELA etc.) and of course school hearthrobs (MTM.. choorrooottt!)
Days turned into months, years... we still have the connection. It seems the insanity was embedded in our DNA and such talk about blast from the Liceo past seems like yesterday.
Three years I've been with the most amazing girls from my childhood. High School for me was indeed a blast, it's not all flowery and fun but I guess I can say it broke me, yet it some ways it also makes me whole. That's why I'm crazy.. Choss!
Until the next trip to the memory lane Liceo girls...
