Reminiscin' Days with Merlito

3:00 AM

If Hong Kong has Nathan Road and New York has Fifth Avenue, Singapore has Orchard Road. Orchard Road is named after the nutmeg orchards that used to line it in the 1830s, one of them coincidentally belongs to Mr Orchard. The central shopping area is concentrated on Orchard Road. It rivals all other areas in terms of sheer volume, quality, and choice. Many of its shopping centers are filled with a variety of products from around the world

It's an easy walk in the park... or i may say Orchard Road. Especially this time of the year when it's the season to be jolly. Malls in the area have a competition for the best decorated or lighted building. The Christmas Spirit was very alive. The streets were filled with Giant Christmas trees and glitters of the Christmas lights, colorful decorations from Sta Claus and the reindeer, from Mr. Snowman to classy Christmas balls.

Our next stop should be in the esplanade, as far as I remember... we rode a bus and got off near Suntec City Mall and began walking again. I forgot the name of the places we passed by where we had some of our souvenir photos. All pictures that are posted below are places before we end to our destination...

church look-alike... however all bars and pub are in this area. yes, we did run after this shot!  LOL
Suntec City Mall is where the Koi Garden is. They have loads of massive Koi fish. You can buy fish food in one of their kiosk and feed the cute creatures.

The reason why we wanted to dropped by Suntec City Mall is the Fountain of Wealth. Fountain of Wealth,  promotes harmony of life and the good fortune of all those who come here to work, shop, eat and play.

If you want to ask what I wished for... it doesn't matter, whatever it is... It didn't come true anyway :( it didn't come true... YET! I'm still crossing my fingers including my toes for it! hehehe!

And for our final destination for the night... The “Durians”?! Featuring The Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay for the performing arts. There is also a library, first of its kind in Singapore, that is devoted to the arts scene in The Esplanade.

The Singapore Flyer, at the right part of the picture below, standing at 165 metres (100 times of my height!), is the World’s Largest Giant Observation Wheel. Visitors can experience the breathtaking unobstructed views in all directions of the Singapore landscapes and even parts of Malaysia and Indonesia. The whole ride lasts for about half an hour.

and here a view of Marina Sands Bay...

Hear the Merlion roar! The beautiful Merlion, overlooking the opposite bay where the Esplanade Theatres, Marina Floating Stadium, Singapore Flyer and other distinctive landmarks are situated.

The Merlion is a symbol of Singapore. This mythological creature is a charming hybrid of a lion and a fish, guarding the entrance to the Singapore River day and night.

and here guys, i want you to meet my MERLITO...

Can you sense how he's sooo into me?! look at that saliva coming from his mouth while looking at me! hahaha! my merlito... why sooo cute?!
