The Place to Meet... Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

10:18 PM

Now we've come to our last leg of Singapore escapade... After an enjoyable stay at the Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre, we come to luxuriate in the famous, modern, and more of a boutique style of hotel for me. For our last stop Crowne Plaza Changi Airport!!!

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is located at 75 Airport Boulevard #01-01, Singapore. The hotel is conveniently linked with covered walkways from the airport terminals. It's a bit further out the central area but everything in SG is pretty accessible. As a matter of fact a Mass Rapid Transport (MRT) which is the Changi station will be found at terminal three within the link bridge as well.

From Orchard road we took a cab going to Crowne that emptied my pocket of about 20SGD, that is around 20-25kms away and it's almost a 30minute drive. The drop off area of the hotel is not that jaw-dropping, uhmm well it's really not. Maybe because most of their guest are coming in from the airport so the link bridge is much of a use for hotel entrance rather than the drop off area.

We arrived at the hotel at 1330 hours, (boooggssh, fresh sa military time huh... deduct 12 tapos automatic greater than 12 is afternoon) however it seems the hotel had a full house a day before. It took sometime before they allowed us to go up to our rooms. But no harm done because they have this beautiful lobby and they gave us refreshements on the house.

Their colorful and eccentric sofas are said to be inspired by watermelon and papaya. On the further end of the lobby lounge you'll have a peaceful garden view that you'll find relaxing after a day of extraneous work. An awesome lobby ceiling which is a glass with flowing water top all my amazement to the hotel's lobby. Coolio!

We absolutely enjoyed free drinks from the bar. Afterwards they handed our room access card. Same thing with Holiday Inn Atrium Singapore, access card serves floor activation in the elevator. Now off we go to the top floor... A spacious suite with a king bed, isn't that sweet?! :)

This is the hallway going to our suite. As you can see the hotel is an open building, so you'll breathe fresh air and you'll have a good view of the runway. This hotel is well known for being an environmental or electricity-free friendly hotel, if you like to put it that way. They only have certain spots with AC unlike to a fully AC hotels. Another good thing with their rooms is that, they have soundproof wall. So arrival and departure of airplanes is not much of a problem.

The Sweet Suite
Let me give you a quick tour to the biggest room I ever have at this luxurious trip in Singapore

Have a meet and greet with our cozy lounge area, with the great view of the swimming pool and departure drop off area of Changi Airport Terminal two. A plasma TV mounted to one of it's wall with a personalize welcome screen bearing my name on it when I opened the boob tube, coolio!

Now come and sleep with me at a king spacious bed still with the view of the pool area and a second boob tube is mounted at bedroom's wall. The lounge area and bedroom are separated by a mirror sliding door, so you'll have privacy if ever you have a guest in the lounge.

What I really want to take home after this fantastic trip was the walk-in closet of Crowne Plaza. Just by thinking of how my stuff will be organize and i'll have full size mirror whenever it's dress up time, i have this urge to put the walk-in closet in my luggage! hahaha!

I can never say no in all the bathtubs I've met especially with this grandiose bathroom. I think I can sleep here for the rest of my life. Another thing I noticed is that in all hotel's bathroom they have their phone installed beside the king's throne. Even if you're doing the smelly deed, will you answer the phone?!

Anyway... Here are other amenities that you can enjoy while staying at the sweet suite....

  • work desk with lamp

However since it's our last day Singapore we haven't stayed so much in our room. We had our last minute SG tour and late night shopping as well.So sweet of the hotel to grant my request of late check out of 0500pm since i have a little before 0800pm flight.

Time to explore other stuff at the hotel!

First Stop Swimming Pool

This spiral stair case is another innovative idea of the hotel to save power. Looks can be deceiving, having this futuristic aura of the Crowne plaza's lobby, there is a hidden tropical resort inside the hotel. We took time for our photo ops, had some swim sprint and explore the biggie pool of the hotel.

On the same floor you'll find the club lounge accessible to guests staying at club rooms. Club lounge access will enitled you to have free continental breakfast, all-day refreshments, evening drinks and canapes. And best of all free wireless internet connection, hehehe! best talaga!

Next Stop. Onsite Restaurants

Imperial Treasure that will be found on the ground floor or first floor just beside the front desk. They do serve lunch and dinner. This restaurant is a famous chinese restaurant chain that serves fine dining Cantonese cuisine and specialty dishes. At 2 in the afternoon, they have a full house. I think all occupied seats can tell how mouth watering their food is.

Azur is on the second floor just where the conference rooms are located. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is an all day dining concept around two show kitchens with chefs presenting a lively multicultural theater serving the best of the eastern and western international cuisines.

Lucky of me to experience a full buffet breakfast throw in to my stay.

I have to say, this stay is quite something! The staff are all awesome, (a massive thanks to their Reservation Manager, My dear Sam!), two thumbs up people! The hotel is modern, tropical, yet western in a way with a very unique design. Most of all it's very clean, as much of Singapore in general.
